As the founder of The Gates Group, Michael works primarily in a fiduciary capacity, always putting clients' best interests first. He and his team are committed to delivering a white-glove experience through high standards in service, customized portfolio management, retirement and legacy planning, and insurance solutions.

Outside of the office, Michael is a devoted family man. He and his wife have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of three children. Their daughter is a UCLA graduate working for a civil engineering firm in Los Angeles. Their middle child is currently a sophomore at the University of Utah, and their youngest will begin attending the University of California, Santa Cruz this year.

Michael is also passionate about giving back to the community. He actively volunteers with different charitable organizations and enjoys spending time with his family on the tennis court or golf course.
